KAY F. NIX

Kay F. Nix, 80, of Piqua, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2023 at Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born January 10, 1943 in St. Paris to the late Buck K. and Julia F. (Stoudt) Perkins. She married Harm T. Nix on April 13, 1973 in Piqua; he preceded her in death October 16, 2016.

Survivors include two sons, Kelly (Beverly Hanvey) Perkins of Decatur, Alabama, Steve (Mary Ann) Perkins of Piqua; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two sister in laws, Ruth Perkins of Piqua, Diana Perkins of Piqua; also many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three children, Thomas Lee Clyne, Karen Pierson, Delores Nix; five brothers, Buck (Pat) Perkins, Lee Perkins, John Perkins, Max (Ursula) Perkins, and Terry (Bessie) Perkins; one sister, Dorothy Perkins; and three grandchildren, Jeremy, Joseph, and Sarah Perkins.

Kay attended Piqua Central High School and worked as a Sterile Processing Technician in Huntsville, Alabama, Piqua, and at the Upper Valley Medical Center. Kay was an avid reader and spent most of her free time reading. She liked to travel down to Alabama to spend a few weeks of winter with her son Kelly, and loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kay also loved animals, and especially her dog Ellie.

A service to honor her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Wagner officiating. Burial will follow the service at Beechwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023, also at the funeral home.
