KATHLEEN J. BUSHNELL

Kathleen "Kathy" Bushnell, 70, of Piqua, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born August 25, 1955 in Troy to the late Dale "Sammy" and H. Jean (Adams) Dershem.

Kathy is survived by two children, Matt (Sara) Bushnell of Piqua and Amy (Mike) O'Brien of Westerville; seven grandchildren, Jacob (Rachel), Isaac, Elijah, Caroline, Samantha, Jack, and Jillian; three great grandchildren, Carter, Callie, and Cora on the way! Three brothers, Fred Dershem of Springboro, Ron (Dee) Dershem of Davisburg, Michigan, and Dave (Theresa) Dershem of Piqua; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters in law, Vickie and Connie.

Kathy was a graduate of Houston High School, Class of 1973. Over the years Kathy worked in the office at Snyder's Flooring, The Valley Church, and most recently with her son Matt at Bushnell's Collision & Towing. She was a longtime, faithful, and very active member of The Valley Church, and dearly loved her church family. Kathy frequently gathered with her high school classmates for lunch, and attended Bible Study frequently at the Valley. She enjoyed getting together with her card club, and loved to go line dancing back in the day. She loved admiring the flowers, and especially the butterflies that came to visit. Kathy was a fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, and loved the Wizard of Oz. She loved to attend her grandchildren's sporting events and activities and may have spoiled them a little. Kathy was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and friend, she will surely be missed by all who loved her.

A time to honor Kathy's life will be held from at 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025 at The Valley Church with Pastor Andy Monnin officiating. Burial will be held privately at Miami Memorial Park in Covington.
