JUDY K. SMITH

Judy K. Smith, 81, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 11:11 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the Village Green Healthcare Center. She was born November 10, 1941 in Tipp City to the late Lloyd and Flora (Williams) Briggs. She married Robert L. Morton October 1, 1959 in Piqua; and he preceded her in death May 27, 2003. She then married Richard L. Smith February 29, 2004 in Celina; and he preceded her in death October 30, 2013.

Survivors include two sons, Brent (Miriam Hutson) Morton, Brad Morton both of Piqua; a daughter, Kim (Bryan) Russell of Springfield; five step children, Carla Hill, Maria Monroe, Todd Smith, Scott Smith, Melissa Smith; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one sister, Connie (John) Heater of Greenville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Roxanna; a son, Bryon; a grandson David; and her beloved dog, Rolo.

Mrs. Smith was a 1959 graduate of Piqua Central High School. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant at French Oil Mill Machinery.  She enjoyed working with her hands, especially while crocheting and working jigsaw puzzles. Judy loved her family deeply and cherished all the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

A service to honor her life will begin at 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2023 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Kris Geise officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford. Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice 1350 N.
