Jonnie E. Hamilton, 80, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 9:37 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2025 at his home. He was born October 9, 1945 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Robert Hamilton and Betty (Mattix) Nicodemus. He married Mary P. (Eberwein) Hamilton on September 28, 1968 in Piqua and she preceded him in death March 16, 2017.
Jonnie is survived by his daughter, Jamie Stahl of Piqua; three grandchildren, Taylor Hamilton, Brody Stahl, and Brady Hamilton Stahl; two sons, Terry Joe (Kathy) Hamilton of Florida, Jon Joshua (Jeannie) Hamilton of Florida; four siblings, Natalee Allman of Florida, Stephanie (Dewayne) McGuire of North Carolina, Valerie Hinkle of Piqua, and Chip Nicodemus of Sidney; also many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Charles Nicodemus; and his brother, Martin Joseph Nicodemus.
Jonnie was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, and went on to honorably serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Jonnie was a Manager for BF Goodrich and retired after many years of hard work and dedication. In his free time and retirement, Jonnie was an avid golfer, and loved to travel-usually to a nice beach or to Vegas to try his hand at Blackjack among the many places he visited. He was a big fan of the Piqua Indians, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cincinnati Reds. Above all else, family was most important to him. He made it a point to attend every single sporting event or activity for his grandchildren that he could. Jonnie will surely be missed by all who loved him.
A service to honor Jonnie's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Keith Gebhart officiating.
