JON A. NIEMI

Jon A. Niemi, 52 of Troy, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, September 18, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 1, 1970 in Woodstock, Illinois to Fred and Virginia Niemi also of Woodstock. He married Amy S. (Teeters) Niemi February 19, 1994 in Piqua and she survives.

Other survivors include his four children, Caleb (Sarah) Niemi of Warsaw, Indiana, Joshua (Jessica) Niemi of Fairborn, Elijah Niemi and Elizabeth Niemi both of Troy; two brothers, David (Emily) Niemi of Algonquin, Illinois, and Mike (Jenny) Niemi of Crystal Lake, Illinois; also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jon attended Taylor University, where he met the love of his life, Amy, and went on to receive his Bachelor’s of Accounting Degree in 1992. With his knowledge of accounting, Jon ran his own small business for the last 28 years. Jon was a God-honoring husband and father who never missed the opportunity to share the hope that he had in Christ. He loved spending time and traveling with his family and attending his children’s sports and activities. It was important for Jon to teach them all to always trust God, despite their circumstances, and to give glory to Him in all things. Not only did he love his own children, but he also loved teaching the children in his church about Jesus. Jon was loved by all that knew him. He will be dearly missed by family and friends, but we rejoice knowing he is now dancing with Jesus.

The worship celebration to honor Jon’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Grace Baptist Church in Troy. Burial will take place privately at Riverside Cemetery in Troy. Friends can greet the family Thursday at Grace Baptist Church from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
