John A. Grubb, 76, of Fletcher, passed away peacefully at 6:35 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Hospice of Miami County. He was born November 30, 1946 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Myron and Thelma (Simmons) Grubb. He married Paula J. Rank December 19, 2007 in Fletcher; and she survives.
Other survivors include three step children, Leshia (Chris) Lyman of Milford, Jaymie (Jerry) Obney of Powell, Jay Anderson of Piqua; three adopted daughters, Kimberly Schoolcraft of North Carolina, Melinda Grubb of Indiana, Amy Grubb of Indiana; eleven grandchildren; and his best friend of many years Danny Miller of Groveport.
Mr. Grubb was a 1965 graduate of Anderson High School in Indiana. He attended the University of Cincinnati on a basketball scholarship. He worked for the former Delphi and General Motors as a tool and die maker for over thirty years before retiring as a supervisor. He loved to spend time outside to tend to his lawn and watch the sunset reflect over his pond. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. He loved his family deeply and cherished the time he spent with them. John was also an animal lover, especially his beloved dog, cat and grand-puppy. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to share a laugh with anyone.
A graveside service to honor his life will begin at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home in Piqua, Ohio.
