Johe L. Schwieterman, 89, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the Trinity Community of Beavercreek. He was born January 4, 1934 in Minster to the late Harry L. and Anna B. (Kemper) Schwieterman. He married Patricia M. Berning October 6, 1954 in Sidney; she preceded him in death December 7, 2006.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Schwieterman of Dayton, Susan (Darrell) Koch of Blanchester; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Steven (Carol) Schwieterman of Minster; and three sisters, Margie (Mike) Stricker, Bonnie (Dave) Becker, Marlene (Robert) Tebbe all of Minster. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra A. Schwieterman, two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Schwieterman was a 1952 graduate of Minster High School and enjoyed a successful career helping others as an Insurance Agent for over 49 years. He was a devout member of St. Boniface Catholic Church since 1962. He was an active member of the St. George Commandery 194 of Knights of St. John in Piqua. He enjoyed volunteering with Bingo within the Catholic community to help others and provide a fun social gathering. He enjoyed dancing, Polka music, playing cards, fishing and will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom and love of his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Eric Bowman as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home where a Knights of St. John service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Johe’s name are encouraged to St. Boniface Catholic Church, 310 S.
