JOANNE W. SULLIVAN

Joanne W. Sullivan, 85, of Piqua, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 10:39 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 at her home. She was born July 4, 1937 in Matewan, West Virginia to the late Bruce and Lina (Cline) Dingess. She married Donald R. Sullivan November 28, 1958 in Williamson, West Virginia and he preceded her in death April 7, 1995.

Survivors include three children, Donnie Sullivan, Dianna (Adam) Ford, and Darlene (Steve) Johnson all of Piqua; six grandchildren, Joshua (Michelle) Sullivan, Spencer Ford, Zachary Johnson, Kelsey (Jason) Brinkman, Hannah (Drew Brodman) Johnson, and Madison Johnson; six great grandchildren, Miley, Sophia, Chloe, Wilder, Sawyer, and Asher; two siblings, Deanna Collins of Maynardville, Tennessee, and Kenneth (Loretta) Cox of Matewan, West Virginia; one sister in law, Judy Dingess; also many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and six siblings, Hurston (Myrtle) Dingess, Hayes Dingess, Burns Dingess, Gloria Marie (Delbert) Ford, Harold (Gloria Jean) Cox, and Louise "Dimple" Cox.

Joanne had worked for the Piqua Paper Box Company and retired after over 25 years of hard work and dedication. She previously had attended the Piqua Freewill Baptist Church. Joanne loved music, especially Bluegrass Gospel, and she loved to sing and sang at the Matewan radio station every Sunday in her youth. In her free time, she enjoyed keeping a garden, cooking and baking, crocheting, drawing and doing Sudoku puzzles. Family was most important to her, and she loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

A service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Hill officiating. Burial will follow the service at Miami Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, also at the funeral home.
