JOAN MARIE HIXSON

Joan Marie Hixson, 67, of Piqua, passed away peacefully in her sleep at 11:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2022 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born January 4, 1955 in Dayton to the late Raymond C. and Rita M. (Thieman) Keller. She married Scott W. Hixson June 1, 1979 in Troy and he preceded her in death May 20, 2007.

Survivors include one son, Neilson (Mindi) Hixson of Troy; three grandchildren, Eva Hixson, Ian Hixson, and Aliece (Gabby) Risch; three siblings, Dave Keller, Patricia (Bill) Browder, and Michael (Ramona) Keller; mother in law, Phyllis Hixson; sister in law, Pam (Donald) Murray; nieces and nephews, Troy Browder, Elaine (Rick) Alvesteffer, Jessica (Steve) Garber, George Keller, Michelle Keller, and Matthew (Amber) Murray. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ken and Jim Keller.

Mrs. Hixson was a 1973 graduate of Julienne High School in Dayton. She had worked at Industry Products in Piqua as a press operator for 30 years. Joan enjoyed collecting antiques, and spending the day hopping from garage sale to garage sale and finding treasures. She loved to visit Lake Erie and had a home in Port Clinton. Joan was an avid reader, she loved her cats, and cherished spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.

A service to honor her life will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 at Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N.
