Jenina M. Marlow, 77, of Covington, went to be with her Lord at 9:53 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2021. She was born March 19, 1944 in Clairfield, Tennessee to the late Preston C. and Lizzie (Shackleford) Taylor. She married John L. Marlow April 27, 1963 in Rochelle, Illinois and he preceded her in death October 7, 2016.
Survivors include two children, Tina (Jim) Marlow-Scott of Covington, and Johnny (Urmy Hamen) Marlow of Lantana, Texas; three grandchildren, Anastasia “Sasha” Davis of Piqua, Denzel de Nos of The Hague, Netherlands, and Royce Marlow of Lantana, Texas; one brother, James (Dorothy) Taylor of Sidney; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Marlow was a 1961 graduate and Salutatorian of Pruden High School and even graduated a year ahead of schedule. Jenina worked at Marsh Grocery Store and Evenflo. She was a faithful member of the First Free Will Baptist Church for many years. She loved to cook and try out new recipes, and enjoyed canning things that came from the garden. She cherished all her family, all the nieces, nephews, and cousins, and also her church family.
A service to honor her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Dennie Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
