JENIFER L. GUNTER

Jenifer L. Gunter, 62, of Troy, passed away peacefully at 5:33 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2023 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born January 12, 1961 in Rochester, Minnesota to the late Alvin J. Wiersma and Goldie (Farnsworth) Rudlong. She married Steven Gunter May 27, 2000 in Troy; and he preceded her in death November 18, 2012.

Survivors include three children, Ryan (Meghan) Clint of Troy, Jillian Clint of Westerville, Bethany (Matt) Helmer of Oak Ridge, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Aurora, Maxwell, Kamryn, Madisyn, Gwenivere, Nikolai, Piper, Karadin, Leonardo; and five siblings, Michael (Rita) Wiersma of Stillwater, Minnesota, Michelle (Russell “Wayne”) Freeman of Springfield, Tennessee, Dale (Diane) Wiersma of Garden Grove, California, Rebecca (Jerome) Dorenkemper of Preston, Minnesota, and Roger (Twila) Wiersma of Spring Valley, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by a son, Justin Clint.

Mrs. Gunter worked for many years as a seamstress for Phoenix Fire Services. She was a member of the Troy Jaycee’s; a club she had been very active with in the past and enjoyed being a part of. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting and sewing. Most importantly, she adored her family and cherished her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

A gathering of family and friends to honor her life will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
