Jean A. Yaney, 80, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 3:18 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born June 15, 1944 in Piqua to the late Marcellus and Anna Grace (Robinson) Sheridan.
Survivors include her loving husband, Larry A. Yaney; two sons, Dan Lind of Dayton, Doug Lind of Greenville; a grandson, Jordan Lind; her cousin and close friend, Karen (Rick) Hubbard of Piqua; and many friends she made over the years, especially her friends she made through her working years. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Thompson; and two brothers, Ronald Sheridan and Don Sheridan.
Jean attended Piqua Central High School and later earned her GED. She worked for many years for Ledex, Inc. as an assembler as well as a custodian for the Upper Valley Career Center. She enjoyed following and attending auto races and caring for her home. She loved to take trips with her friends, especially to Amish Country, as well as shopping and sharing meals with her closest friends. Additionally, she was an animal lover, especially her beloved dogs. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and close friends.
A service to honor her life will begin at 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2025 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Animal Shelter, 1110 N. County Rd. 25A Troy, OH 45373.
