Janice L. Roth, 74 of North Hampton, formerly of Piqua, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born May 14, 1948 in Sidney to the late William "Bus" and Helen Louise (Cathcart) Fleming. She married Dennis L. Roth June 30, 1971 in Piqua and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2009.
Survivors include three children, Betsy (Tony) Rice of North Hampton, Ray Lynn Crumley of Texas, and Russell Fleming of Piqua; five grandchildren, Jessica (Kenny) Baugh, Russell "Rusty" Fleming Jr., Brandon (Jamie) Roth, Hailey Roth, and Meara Roth; eight great grandchildren; and four siblings, Thomas (Sherry) Fleming of Sidney, James (Gail) Fleming of Ocala, Florida, Jo (Jr.) Taylor of Sidney, and David Fleming of Sidney. She was preceded in death by a son, Vincent Lee Roth; and six siblings, Shirley Parker, Patricia (Bruce) Robinson, Barbara (Lawrence) Collins, Donald (Kathy) Fleming, Kathryn (James) Roberts and Richard Fleming.
Mrs. Roth attended Sidney High School and worked at Dale's Restaurant for many years. She loved to crochet, and enjoyed making blankets and other items for family and friends. Janice liked to complete puzzles, watch crime television shows, and was a great cook; she enjoyed spending time with her family during special events. Janice also loved her children and grandchildren dearly and spoiled them whenever she could. After her husband Dennis passed away, Janice never really was the same. Her family takes comfort knowing that they are finally reunited.
A graveside service to honor her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 at the Dayton National Cemetery with Pastor Scott Stremmel officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 1 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions are recommended to VFW Post 4874, 8756 N.
