Janet L. Miller, 96, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 9:01 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born August 31, 1927 in Celina to the late Paul V. and Gladys (Trippy) Gast. She married Thomas N. Miller January 3, 1948 in Celina; and he preceded her in death July 1, 2002.
Survivors include eight children, Gary (Dinah) Miller of Colorado, Brice (Jeanne) Miller of Colorado, Diana Wolfe of Casstown, Lynn Albert of Colorado, Marty (Beth) Miller of Iowa, Nick Miller of Florida, Dean Miller of Wyoming, Lori (Roger) Warner of Idaho; twenty-six grandchildren; fifty-eight great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Tina Miller of Piqua. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Miller; a sister, Dorothy “Jean” Knapschafer; two grandchildren, Joshua Miller, Cyndi McNally; a great grandchild, Kellen Wolfe; and two sons-in-law, Kevin Albert and Cloyd Wolfe.
Mrs. Miller was a 1945 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Celina. She, along with her husband were the owners and operators of Clover Court Hotel and Restaurant in Colorado Springs for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Janet loved to spend her time outdoors, especially hiking and exploring nature. She liked to stay active, even in the past few years by attending water aerobic classes with her family. She was a talented dancer and absolutely loved to dance, especially with her grandchildren, whom she adored. She will be deeply missed by her devoted and loving family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 27, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Piqua with Rev. Fr. Eric Bowman as the Celebrant. Private burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, Inc. 3230 N.
