JAMES "JIM" C. COLLINS

James C. "Jim" Collins, 72, of Piqua, passed away at 11:26 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born December 15, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Chester A. and Zola (Blair) Collins, Sr.

Survivors include two daughters, Nicole (Shanon) Strait of Piqua, and Bailey Collins of Delphos; one grandson, Jake Hudson-Strait; one sister, Connie Gurski of St. Paris; his best friend Carson Grubb, and his granddog, Willow; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Eric "Jason" Collins; and three brothers, Chester A. Collins Jr., Dallas Collins and Barney Collins.

Jim was a graduate of Piqua Central High School Class of 1968. He worked as a welder at the former Aerovent and was an instructor at the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology. In his free time, he enjoyed participating in local dart leagues, practicing Judo, and playing golf. He also liked to relax and watch a good western on TV. Jim loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could.
