James A. Dankworth, 64, of Piqua, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, May 30, 2025 in his home. He was born May 19, 1961 in Piqua to the late William E. and Barbara L. (Ward) Dankworth, Sr.
Survivors include three brothers, Douglas (Kiyoko) Dankworth of Lavonia, Michigan, William (Kim) Dankworth of Loveland, Matthew (Robin) Dankworth of Troy; four sisters, Gail (Rick) Denning of Sidney, Lori (Lance) Lamphar of Lebanon, Angela (Thomas) Thornton of Sidney, Melissa (Chip) Millard of Cincinnati; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Jim was a 1979 graduate of Piqua Central High School and the Upper Valley JVS. He was a long time member of The Valley Church in Piqua where he volunteered and participated in their Bible study group. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and followed NASCAR closely. He enjoyed visiting with family, friends, and neighbors. He was a lover of animals, especially his beloved cats, Myrtle “The Turtle”, and Duke. He will be sadly missed by his loving family.
A private service to honor his life will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The Valley Church, 1400 Seidel Pkwy, Piqua, OH 45356.
