HELEN L. WILSON

Helen L. Wilson, 85, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 8:15 a.m. Monday, May 29, 2023 at Ayden Healthcare. She was born September 17, 1937 in Piqua to the late Lloyd E. and Ceridwen M. (Thomas) Thompson. She married James D. Wilson, Sr. August 2, 1974 in Piqua; and he preceded her in death January 18, 2006.

Survivors include five grandchildren, Timothy Scott Wilson, Jr., Dakota Wilson, Brayden Wilson, Nathan Wilson, Tyler Wilson; a great granddaughter, Koral Wilson; and a few nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sons, Timothy Scott Wilson, Sr., Jeffrey Wilson, Jerry Wilson, James D. Wilson, Jr.; a daughter, Catherine Wilson; five brothers, Thomas, Leroy, Richard, John, and her twin brother, Robert; she is also preceded in death by her beloved canine companions, Dottie and Zipper.

Mrs. Wilson was a 1955 graduate of Piqua Central High School and attended Ashland University. She worked as an Inspector for B.F. Goodrich for 30 years before she retired in 1998. She had a passion for woodcarving and wood burning. Her greatest achievement in woodcarving was her completion of a beautifully crafted, full size carousel horse. She also enjoyed making stained glass windows. Additionally, she enjoyed tracking and researching family genealogy. She, along with her late husband also has a passion for traveling to take their Jeep off-roading and enjoyed their membership with the Southern Four Wheel Drive Association.

A graveside service to honor her life at Forest Hill Cemetery will be announced at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
