GREGORY "RED" S. WEIGEL

Gregory S. "Red" Weigel, 65, of Piqua, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at his home. He was born July 16, 1960 in Piqua to the late John C. and Marlene C. (Francis) Weigel, Sr.

Greg is survived by two children, Chastity (Gary) Young of Piqua, Tommy Weigel of Sidney; two grandsons, Brayden and Bryce; his sister, Malinda "Lynn" (Jim) Williams of Piqua, his brother, Mark (Jessica) Weigel of Piqua; his niece and nephews, Britt, Kevin, Jim, John, Joe, and Matt; also numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Matt Weigel, and John C. Weigel, Jr.

Greg was a graduate of Piqua Central High School and the Joint Vocational School, Class of 1979. Greg honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the District Manager for Rent A Center and retired after 29 years of hard work and dedication. Greg loved classic cars and motorcycles, and spent a lot of time detailing his Nova and his motorcycle. He also enjoyed racing go-karts, traveling to NASCAR races and he collected die-cast cars. He entered his Nova in a few car shows and took home some trophies as well. In his spare time, he could always be found using his green-thumb making sure the yard and flower beds were tidy and good looking. Maybe retained from his Army days, he kept a schedule every day and everything had it's place, and things were done in a specific order. Greg also enjoyed trying his luck on the lottery and taking trips to the casino from time to time.

A time to honor Greg's life will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Forest Hill Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
