GLENZETTA N. REAVES

Glenzetta N. Reaves, 99 ½ , of Piqua, went home to be with the Lord at 2:22 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in the comfort of her home. She was born November 14, 1924 in Piqua to the late Albert E. and Gertrude (Crowder) Johnson.

Survivors include three sons, Albert (Lizett) Myers of Tipp City, Timothy (Gail) Reaves of Piqua, Greg Reaves of Piqua; nine grandchildren, David, Chris, Rashaan, Chelsea, Larissa, Garrison, Jessica, Jacquelyn, Autumn; twenty-four great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren, and her special relatives, Marie, Diane, Spencer, and Willa Mae. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Johnson, James Johnson, Bill Johnson; two sisters, Geraldine Ewing, Florence Washington; a son, Jonathan Hal Reaves; a daughter, Cathy Reaves-Franklin; and two granddaughters, Jocelyn, and Alicia.

Mrs. Reaves attended Piqua Central High School. She was a longstanding and devout member of Transformed Life Church. She worked for many years as a machinist for AK Steel and Miami Industries, from which she retired. She also worked as a caregiver to the French family. She was a member of the YWCA and enjoyed bowling in her younger years. She loved to give back to her community, especially in her role as a cook at Head Start. She was a devoted grandmother who loved her family deeply and was a constant care taker for her family. Her love for her family came only second to her love for the Lord. She lived her faith and would abide by the words of the Hymn, “I’ll just say thank you Lord, and I won’t complain.” She will be deeply missed by many.

A service to honor her life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Transformed Life Church with Bishop Brian Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
