Frederick L. Stahl, 89, of Piqua, passed away at 8:23 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born October 30, 1934 in Darke County to the late Harry and Edith (West) Stahl. He married Rita M. Bey March 5, 1955 in Versailles; a union that would span 68 years, and she survives.
Other survivors include four children, Dan (Roberta) Stahl of Washington Courthouse, Kim (Brett) Passineau of Kettering, Cindy (Dan) Lewis of Worthington, Tom (Debbie) Stahl of Lewis Center; twelve grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Stahl; and two sisters, Norma Jean Shahan, and Martha Craine.
Fred was a 1952 graduate of Bradford High School. He worked for 23 years as an assembler for National Cash Register before moving on to become self employed and independent through property management and investments. He was considered a “Jack of All Trades” and could fix anything in the home or on a vehicle. He was a past member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was a life long lover of Dancing and looked forward to the weekend dances he attended with his wife. He loved music of all types and would stay up with the times. In his younger years he enjoyed trap shooting and water sports; especially skiing and boating, and was a member of the Piqua Boat & Ski Club. More than anything, he loved his family deeply and was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather with a soft spot for his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.
A gathering of family and friends to honor his life will be held from 10:00-12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Private burial will be held at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice in Fred’s memory. Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy, to be provided to the family, may be expressed through jamiesonandyannucci.com
