Franklin D. “Frank” O’Brien, 77, of Piqua, went to be with his Lord at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the Piqua Manor Nursing Home. He was born January 4, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to the late George R. and Mary (Huber) O’Brien, Sr.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Betty (Braunagel) O’Brien of Piqua; six children, Timothy O’Brien of Greenville, Malisa (Steve) Card of Carsonville, Michigan, Robert O’Brien of Piqua, Sarah (Justin) O’Brien-Landis of Plain City, Krista (Adam) Selhorst of San Diego, California, Eric (Carla) O’Brien of Cincinnati; twelve grandchildren, and expecting one more; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Carol Nihem and Rosie Deschane, both of Detroit, Michigan. He was preceded in death by four brothers, and two sisters.
Frank worked as a sales representative for Rainbow Cleaning Systems for over fourteen years. He was a devout member of St. Boniface Catholic Church where he enjoyed working Bingo and attending chapel hours. Frank loved a good joke and reading poetry. In his younger years he was an avid swimmer and enjoyed sailing.
A private service to honor his life will be held at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church 310 S. Downing St. Piqua, OH 45356.
