Francis "Scott" Bates, 66, of Piqua, passed away at 2:05 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He was born January 18, 1959 in Piqua to the late Francis E. Bates and Virginia (Byerly) Eisenzimmer, who survives.
Other survivors include his son, Andrew Bates of Troy; two grandchildren, Sawyer and Blake; brother Dennis Bates of Alaska and sister, Tammy (Mike) Cool of Celina.
Scott worked for over 33 years for Mechanical Galvanizing and Plating in Sidney. He was an avid Hot wheels and coin collector. Scott enjoyed cheering for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy, to be provided to the family, may be expressed through jamiesonandyannucci.com.
