Eva Davis, 87, of Russia, more recently of St. Marys, passed away peacefully at 4:55 p.m. Saturday, February 15th at Otterbein Senior Living. She was born April 2, 1937 in Piqua to the late Ulysses and Anna Marie (Warner) Burnside. She married Daniel Davis November 23, 1989 in Sidney; he preceded her in death March 22, 2023.
Survivors include five children, Mark (Annette) Hughes of Ft. Loramie, Jenny (Kevin) Barnes of Anna, Debra (Sean) Sturgill of Dayton, Rick (Heather) Davis of Florida and Dan Davis of Celina; sixteen grandchildren, Ryan (Mary) Hughes, Kylie Hughes, Kennedy Hughes, Gina Ludwig, Kelly Brautigam, Kaira Castle, Christopher (Irena) Castle, Sara (Mark) Bailey, Stephanie (Seth) Green, Stan Hughes, Kurt (Rachel) Hughes, Mindy (Lori) Hughes, Austin Davis, Ariel Davis, Madison Davis, Quinton Barhorst; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Davis; a son Scott (Teresa) Hughes; and nine brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Piqua High School in 1953. Eva worked at Copeland Corporation until 1998 when she retired. Eva enjoyed bird watching, working jigsaw puzzles and playing cards in her later years. She enjoyed the numerous trips to Florida and traveling with her late husband, visiting friends and enjoying the warm weather. Eva loved spending time with her family, loved them deeply, and will be sorely missed.
A graveside service to honor her life will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grand Lakes Hospice, 1122 E.
