Edith E. Sullenberger, 96, of Piqua, passed away at 12:22 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at her home with family by her side. She was born September 12, 1927 in Piqua to the late Fred P. and Marie M. (Huston) Miller. She married Raymond E. Sullenberger September 11, 1943 in Covington; he preceded her in death December 1, 1965.
Survivors include a son, Jerry (Beth) Sullenberger of Simpsonville, South Carolina, a daughter, Robin Chamberlain of Piqua; three grandchildren, Joshua (Stacy) Sullenberger whom she shared such a special bond with, Rob (Renee) Sullenberger, and Lisa (Jeff) Clark; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Rosalie (Keith) Snyder of Piqua; two brothers, Jack Miller of Piqua, Bill (Ronnie) Miller of Troy; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen (Linda) Sullenberger and two brothers, Richard (Joyce) Miller and Louis Miller; and her sister in law, Marilyn Miller.
Mrs. Sullenberger attended Covington Schools and retired from Hobart Brothers in 1999 following 27 years of service. She was a wonderful homemaker. Edith enjoyed ironing and making sure the creases were perfect, working in her yard, and going to the YMCA for water aerobics and swimming. She loved being the boss in all matters, and she adored her children and grandchildren, and her dog Winnie.
A special time to honor her life will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N.
