DOUGLAS L. LYONS

Douglas L. Lyons, 66, of Covington, more recently of Blacklick, passed away peacefully at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024 in his home. He was born March 10, 1958 in Piqua to the late Joseph E. and Norma (Snyder) Lyons.

Survivors include a daughter, Betsy Lyons of Covington; a son, Benjamin Lyons of Blacklick; two grandchildren, Michael Bixler, Mydalis Bixler; a sister, Carma Jo (Keith) Kauffman of Danville; and a brother, Greg (Patrice) Lyons of Russia.

Mr. Lyons was a graduate of Newton High School. He retired as a heavy equipment operator and was a life member of IUOE Local 18. In his younger years he was active with 4H and Future Farmers of America. He enjoyed attending auctions and collecting John Deere and Caterpillar equipment, as well as vintage neon signs. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and enjoyed being the life of the party and lived for the good times. Additionally, he loved his grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with them.

A graveside service to honor his life will begin at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Pastor Kris Geise officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, Inc. 3230 N.
