DOUGLAS E. LANTZ

Douglas E. Lantz, 62, of Piqua, passed away unexpectedly at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2022. He was born September 2, 1959 in Florida to the late Harold and Florence Lantz.

Survivors include three sons, Chris (Erica) Lantz of Union, Kentucky, Rodney Lantz of Kansas City, Missouri, Jonathan Lantz of Wilmington, Ohio; three grandsons, Ethan Lantz, Ian Lantz, Holden Lantz; two brothers, Danny (Peggy) Lantz of Greenwood, Florida, Tom McGarity of Piqua; a sister, Bev Mayfield of Berea, Kentucky; and his extended family, Randy (Kimmy) Wilson, Rich Wilson, Tammy Wilson, and Shanda Wilson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donny Lantz; and a son, Chad Lantz.

Mr. Lantz was a 1977 graduate of Piqua Central High School. He worked for many years for Jackson Tube Services, from which he retired. He enjoyed working on model cars and enjoyed spending time fishing. Additionally, he enjoyed watching television programs that included CHIPS, Wyatt Earp and the Dukes of Hazard. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed joking around with his family. He also had a bit of a sweet tooth, and even though he wasn’t supposed to, he enjoyed sneaking desserts when he thought his family didn’t notice. He will be deeply missed by those who love him.

A graveside service to honor his life will begin at 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2022 at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Monday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
