Douglas L. DeWeese, 66, of Piqua, passed away at 9:42 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County. He was born March 27, 1958 in Troy to the late Paul L. DeWeese and Mary L. (Mutzner) Mills. He married Linda (Keiser) DeWeese June 17, 1978 in Piqua and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Kevin (Hillary) DeWeese of Westerville, Brad (Kim) DeWeese of Piqua; one sister, Ellen (John) Knudsen of New York City, New York; and five grandchildren, Katelyn, Jack, Mitchell, Morgan, and Addison; also many other relatives and friends.
Doug was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, Class of 1976. He was a lifelong farmer, and also drove a school bus for Piqua City Schools for 30 years. Doug served as a Springcreek Township Trustee for many years. Doug was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. Family was very important to him, and he enjoyed going on family vacations with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren about farming and made it a point to attend as many of their sporting events and activities as possible.
A graveside service for Doug will be held privately at Forest Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N. County Road 25A, Troy, OH 45373.
