DOROTHY MARIE FITCH

Dorothy Marie Fitch, 82, of Piqua, passed away at 12:50 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2025 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. She was born January 14, 1943 in Meador, West Virginia to the late Howard and Emma (Thompson) Blankenship.

Survivors include two children, Emma (Larry) Warren and Tim (Karen) Herron all of Piqua; special granddaughter, Abigail Blackshire; step-daughter, Carla (Kenny) Creager of Piqua; seven grandchildren, Greg (Raini) Highley, Christopher Highley, Amber (Joe) Weigel, Victoria Highley, Erica Herron, Timothy Herron Jr. and Kenny Ray Creager, II; eleven great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Ruth Estep of Meador, West Virginia, Tina (Gene) Clemons of Pikeville, Kentucky and Judy (Ray) Kennedy of Meador, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Larry Smith, Marvin Herron, Carson Fitch; six siblings Ila Cisco, Opal Thacker, Estalene Jones, Billy Ray Blankenship, J.P. Blankenship and Betty Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy worked for many years for Evenflo in Piqua, from which she retired. She was a devout member of Mid-County Church of Christ in Troy where she was active for over 30 years with the Thursday School. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and traveling to West Virginia to visit family. Dorothy will be remembered for her love of Jesus, dedication to her church, and devotion to her family.

A service to honor her life will begin at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the Mid-County Church of Christ 1580 N. Dorset Lytle Rd Troy, OH 45373 with Pastor Ralph Royse officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to His Hands Extended Sanctuary, 1560 Dialton Rd.
