Dorothy A. Miller, 99, of Piqua, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Hospice House of Dayton. She was born November 25, 1925 in Sidney to the late Ernest and Alberta (Replogle) Weigandt. She married Charles E. “Chuck” Miller July 4, 1945 in Portsmouth, Virginia; and he preceded her in death September 19, 1986.
Survivors include a son, Charles “Chuck” (Cathy) Miller of Kettering; two daughters, Becky (Rodger) Menozzi of Enon, Sally Kennedy of Kettering; three grandsons, Michael Kennedy, Josh Miller, Ben Miller; a great grandson, Maverick; and a brother, Thomas Weigandt of Texas. She was preceded in death by four brothers; and two sisters.
Mrs. Miller was a 1943 graduate of Holy Angels High School. She worked in the greenhouse for Weigandt Nursery for many years, then as a sales clerk for over 23 years at Elder-Beerman from which she retired. She was a devout member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was active with the Red Hat Society for many years and enjoyed the friendships she made. She enjoyed sewing and had made many beautiful quilts. Mostly, she loved her family and cherished the opportunity to dote on her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved deeply.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. James Duell as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
