DONNA J. COLLINS

Donna J. Collins, 86, of Piqua, more recently of Covington, passed away peacefully at 1:54 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2025 in the comfort of her home. She was born May 24, 1939 in Dayton to the late Lawrence and Mildred (Six) Barber. She married James E. Collins January 23, 1960 in Beavercreek; and he preceded her in death July 8, 2012.

Survivors include three daughters, Candace (Richard) Deitering of Covington, Cathy (Mark) Landis of Piqua, Kelly Collins of Temple Terrace, Florida; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Clayton) Angle, Michele (Eric) Grasse, Richard (Jessica) Deitering, Jason (Rosalie) Landis, Jennifer (Ben) Millhouse, Janae (Chris) Schakel, Jake (Cyndi) Strehle; and fourteen great grandchildren, Layna, Makalah, Wyatt, Bryce, Eva, Ariadne, Gabe, Parker, Baylene, Bella, Joshua, Ellie, Levi, and Tobias. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Betty Johnson, Vivian Kingrey, Virginia Greene, Alberta Simmonson, Charlotte Shilt; a brother, Roy Barber; and a great granddaughter, Audrey Angle.

Mrs. Collins was a graduate of Beavercreek High School. She worked for the Piqua School System as a cook at Nicklin School for over 35 years and retired as the Head Cook. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years. She was an avid golfer and also enjoyed working ceramics. She will be deeply missed by her loving family.

A graveside service to honor her life will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2025 at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Friday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, Inc. 3230 N.
