Donald Headley, 92, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 8:40 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2025 at Ayden Healthcare of Piqua. He was born January 14, 1933 in Grove City to the late Robert L. and Ruth (Plummer) Headley. He married Nancy L. Sherwood December 5, 1952 in Piqua; and she preceded him in death June 23, 2016.
Survivors include a daughter, Mindy Greggerson of Piqua; two grandchildren, Brad (Kelli) Hill, Laura (Dustin) Masteller; a step grandson, Charles Greggerson; seven great grandchildren, Kloee, Kim, Karter, Kolton, and Kenedee Hill, Aiden, Mason, and Ryder Masteller; a sister, Joann Ingle of Versailles; and a brother, Dick Headley of Greenville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Bobby” Headley; and a sister, Dorothy Snider
Mr. Headley attended Versailles High School before joining the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He worked for nearly 50 years at the former Miami Industries before his retirement. Don enjoyed working with his hands, especially doing his woodworking projects. He was a talented craftsman and was a “Jack of all trades” and was known to be able to build or fix just about anything. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding and taking trips on his motorcycle with his wife. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren and truly cherished all the time he was able to spend with them.
A private graveside service to honor his life will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, Inc. 3230 N.
