DONALD E. BLACK
Donald E. Black, 83, of Piqua, passed away at 1:00 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2021 at the Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. He was born July 26, 1937 in Piqua to the late Prince E. and Treva C. (Black) Black. He married Janet A. Culver September 9, 1955 in Piqua; she preceded him in death July 30, 2004.
Survivors include three sons, Ken & Melinda Black of Sidney, Chris & Debbie Black of Piqua, Brent & Shelly Black of Piqua; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Larry & Sherry Black of Piqua; and his fiancée, Carolyn Knotts of Piqua.
Mr. Black was a 1955 graduate of Piqua Central High School. He worked as a manufacturing engineer for B.F. Goodrich for forty-one years before he retired. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3998. He enjoyed sourcing antique artifacts, or what some would call attending garage sales. He enjoyed working with his hands, tinkering with different projects as well as fixing and remodeling homes.
A service to honor his life will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Lutz. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity in Donald's memory.
