He was born April 5, 1928 in Bellefontaine to the late Wayne and Mable (Montgomery) Beasley. He married Ondalee (Landis) Beasley on September 24, 1950 in Piqua and she preceded him in death on July 26, 2020 after 69 years of marriage.
Don is survived by his three children, Terry (Cheryl) Beasley of Villa Rica, Georgia, Linda (William) Apple of Covington, and Joseph (Pam) Beasley of Richmond, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Michael, Erin, Natalie, Matthew, Laurie, Joe, and Sam; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; his brother, Bob Beasley of Piqua; also many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Yeretzian; and three siblings, Helen Lee, Lloyd Beasley, and Dallas Beasley.
Don was very patriotic and honorably served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Following his time in the service, he worked for B.F. Goodrich and was the Union President for a time, and retired after 38 years of hard work and dedication. Don was always competitive in every endeavor, and loved to compete in high school basketball where he was the tallest player on his team and one of the tallest players in Shelby County. He naturally enjoyed sports and coached his children in Piqua Little League. Don liked to play cards as well, especially Euchre and kept those games very competitive with all members of the family as well as friends. In his free time and after retirement, he was a carpenter and built various add-ons and improvements to his home and various other projects. Don and Ondalee loved to travel, and took their Winnebago to every state in the country. They especially enjoyed going down to Lake Cumberland and had wonderful memories made there with friends and family.
