Dixie I. Barga, 85, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 4:35 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born November 23, 1940 in Piqua to the late Frank and Stella (White) Cotrell.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue (Brian) Harvey-Wray of Piqua; a son-in-law, Scott Skipper of Lynchburg; six grandchildren, Bryan Ashford, Brianna Ashford, Ben Noble, Austin (Carynne) Wray, Dylan Wray, Erik (Brandi) Shinall; and five great grandchildren, Tanner, Madalynn, Hudson, Waylon, and Evelynn. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Cotrell, Frank Cotrell, Jr., Rick Cotrell; two sisters, Etta Mohr, Nina Batcheler; and a daughter, Candi Skipper.
Mrs. Barga was a 1959 graduate of Piqua Central High School and later earned her associate’s degree from Edison State Community College. She dedicated over 13 years of service to Dixie Packing in Madison, Florida, before retiring. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially shopping and sharing coffee with others. She enjoyed the gentle sounds of her wind chimes and the beauty of the birds she loved to watch and feed. Her home reflected her vibrant spirit, filled with bright colors and warmth. Above all, Mrs. Barga loved her family deeply. She treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her life.
A private service to honor her life will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity in Dixie's memory.
