DENNIS JOHN NAGY, SR.

Dennis John Nagy, Sr., 85, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 4:28 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2024 at Piqua Manor Nursing Home. He was born Mach 14, 1939 in Toledo to the late John A. and Irma M. Nagy. He married Janet Van Hoose October 27, 1997; and she preceded him in death August 25, 2023.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Lisa) Nagy, Jr. of Maumee, Tony Nagy of Kalida, Chris (Kim) Nagy of Midlothian, Texas; three stepchildren, Kenneth (Julie) Van Hoose of Pomroy, Amy (Dave) Boutwell of Piqua, Joel (Greg) Van Hoose of Piqua; eleven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, with one more on the way; one step great granddaughter; and a sister, Connie Fosnow of Florida. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom “Butch” Nagy; and two sons, Tim Nagy, and Aaron Nagy.

Dennis worked as a machine operator for over 40 years at Ford in Lima. He was a past member of Spirit Life Church and enjoyed woodworking in his free time. He was a true car guy and loved to learn about the uniqueness and differences in the models and years. He was a hard worker and dedicated much of his time to his profession. Additionally, he was a lover of animals; especially his beloved dogs he cared for over the years.

A graveside service to honor his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Leipsic, Ohio. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Animal Shelter, 1110 N.
