Dennis R. Dickensheets, 77, of Piqua, passed away at 4:45 am Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Hospice of Miami County. He was born March 31, 1945 in Sidney to the late John Thomas and Bernice Lucille (Young) Dickensheets. He married Cheryl L. (Favorite) Dickensheets August 13, 1978 in Piqua and she preceded him in death July 27, 2018.
Survivors include one daughter, Lori (Nathan) Justinger of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin; two step sons, Curt (JoNell) Wagner, and Cevin (Brenda) Wagner all of Troy; eight grandchildren, Wyatt Justinger, Macy Justinger, Ashley (Zachary Cooley) Wagner, Brittany (Elijah) Marbida, Rachel (Drew Henn) Wagner, Jenna Jaynes, Charles Jaynes, and Jen (Christopher) Boryca; six great-grandchildren, Zayden, Khloe, KayLynn, Kason, Kaydon, KayLee, and Baby Marbida on the way; two sisters, Roxie (David) Frankum of Athens, Georgia, and Cheryl Dickensheets of Piqua; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rita (Dale) Palsgrove.
Dennis was a graduate of Piqua Central High School Class of 1963. He was a longtime member of the Piqua Church of the Brethren. Dennis had worked in various financial roles with multiple companies over the years. Dennis was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, and followed college and pro football, Piqua Indians football, golf, and followed Nascar and even raced stock cars when he was younger. He enjoyed keeping a garden, going fishing, hunting, and mushroom hunting, and he loved to go camping a few times a year in Southern Ohio at the Ohio Power Company Campground. Dennis also enjoyed going to visit Amish Country. The family would like to thank Pastor Larry Lutz and the church for their continuous prayer and support, the Sippel family for their loyal friendship over the years and spending time with Dennis, and to Hospice of Miami County for the compassionate care given to Dennis.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are being provided through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
