Deborah L. Schott, 73, of Piqua, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 1:03 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County. She was born November 24, 1950 in Troy to the late John L. and Virginia R. (Hachten) Tobias. She married Richard J. Schott December 22, 1975 in Bradford and he survives.
Other survivors include three children, Monica (Wes) Holmes of St. Paris, Tori Stafford of Troy, Ian (Natalie) Schott of Piqua and her forever son in law Adam Jacomet of Piqua; eight grandchildren; Audrey (Jacob Voisinet) Jacomet, Abby (Charlie Webb) Black, Isaiah Jacomet, Andrew Holmes, Seth Jacomet, Dottie Brodrick, Addelyn Schott, and Dylan Holmes; three siblings, Michael (Tami) Tobias of Grove City, Marc (Diana) Foster of Bradford, and Sue (Jeff Wight) Floyd of Piqua; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick (Dee) Tobias.
Mrs. Schott was a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1969. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Dayton in 1985. Deborah worked in Healthcare Administration with a focus on Senior Care and retired after 35+ years of hard work and dedication. She cherished the time spent with her clients and liked to play cards or games with them. She was an avid reader, and had quite a collection to her name. Deborah was musically gifted, and played piano at the Church and at various functions around town, and she also sang in church and was a member of a female Quartet. She was a longtime faithful member of Abundant Life Baptist Church, and she was a champion of the Lord and made sure she spoke to anyone and everyone about His Saving Grace whenever she had the chance. One of Deborah's favorite things was the Christmas season, and she loved to decorate and make the holiday special for her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook, and loved to get family together for any reason and was famous for her Peanut Butter Pies. The family would ask that visitors please wear Christmas attire to her services, she would of loved everyone to celebrate her favorite holiday.
A service to honor her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2024 at Abundant Life Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Euton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
