David is survived by two children, Barbara (Tim) Janeczek of Sidney, and Benjamin (Connie) Yaney of Red Deer, Canada; three grandchildren, Jacob (Kristina) Janeczek, Emily (Allen) Weaver, and Adelle (David) Teeter; eight great grandchildren, William, Lily, Alexis, Jedrek, Van, Norma, Flossie, and Cora; also numerous other relatives and friends. David was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, Class of 1954. Following High School, David served honorably in the United States Army. He began working at General Motors as a Tool & Die maker, and retired in 1993 after many years of hard work and dedication. David was extremely proud to have helped create the brakes for the Moon Rover, and also the APU system used in large planes. Even in his free time, David was always active. He enjoyed flying his Ultralight plane, riding dirt bikes and street bikes, working on classic and show cars, and loved to go fishing. David also enjoyed traveling around and going camping, and he always talked about the trips out West to Tombstone and to visit the "Wild West". He was a member of the former West Milton Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and a member of the NRA. David always had pet dogs in the house, and also loved his family dearly. He will certainly be missed.
