DAVID J. FREE

David J. Free, 53, of Sidney, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 20, 2024 at his home. He was born March 4, 1971 in Troy to Brenda K. (Byerly) Free of Sidney and the late Danny G. Free.

David is survived by his mother and two daughters, Dannie Free and Nora Daniels; his brother, Dustin (Heather) Free of Troy; his niece Cayley Seitz; and his aunt, Rebecca "Becky" Byerly of Dayton; also many other relatives and friends.

David was a graduate of Sidney High School, Class of 1989. He had worked for Honda in Anna for many years. David loved sprint car racing, and enjoyed traveling to different races around the country. He enjoyed taking an annual race trip with his dad and brother and looked forward to that tradition. David was an avid reader, and liked to go hiking and be surrounded by nature. David had a great sense of humor and loved to spend time with his daughters and his family and friends. David will truly be missed by all who loved him.

A gathering of family and friends to honor David's life will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Burial will take place privately at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation, 1225 Dublin Rd.
