CLARENCE E. “BUCK” WALKER
Clarence E. “Buck” Walker, 93, of Piqua, passed away peacefully Saturday September 4, 2021 at 12:47 p.m. at Garbry Ridge Assisted Living. He was born June 19, 1928 in Fletcher to the late Clarence and Margaret (Dunn) Walker. He married Geneva R. Kennedy July 20, 1957; she preceded him in death February 11, 2002. He then married Patricia L. (Kasler) Grissom October 19, 2003; and she preceded him in death July 26, 2021.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna (John) Lundeen of Golden, Colorado; a son, Richard (Debbie) Walker of Port Charlotte, Florida; step-children, Teri (Dan) Young, Christie (Brent) Schneider all of Piqua, Lori (John) Williams of Granbury, Texas; three grandchildren, Lauren Lundeen, Abigail Lundeen, Natalie Lundeen; five step-grandchildren, Brian (Jill) Young, Bill Young, Nate (Dana) Schneider, Ben Schneider, Katie Williams; five step-great grandchildren, Ayden, Haylee, Hunter, Adelynn, Barrett; and a sister, Lucille Sansom of Piqua. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Bill, and Dale; and four sisters, Mary Helen Dill, Ruth Peterson, Joan VanPelt, and Frances Mauchamer.
Mr. Walker spent his entire working life as a concrete/block mason, and retired as a Foreman from the Brown Concrete Company and Ryan Construction Company. He was a United States Army veteran having served Occupation Duty in Japan and fought in the Korean War. He was a member of Piqua Baptist Church, VFW Post 4874, American Legion Post 184. He was an active member in the Piqua Rangers, a nationally recognized drill team in the 1960’s and 1970’s. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan since the 1950’s. He will be remembered for his compassion, humor, and willingness to help anyone. He will be deeply missed by his loving family.
A service to honor his life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Piqua Baptist Church with Rev. Donald R. Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Buck’s name are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O.
