Charles W. “Chuck” Jacobs, Sr., 84, of Covington, passed away at 11:37 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born July 25, 1941 in Piqua to the late William and Alma (Grise) Jacobs. He married Dorothy E. Mader October 21, 1961 in Piqua; and she survives.
Other survivors include five children, Pam (Randy) Schwable of Piqua, Paul (Kim) Jacobs of Piqua, Mike (Kim) Jacobs of West Milton, Charlie (Christine) Jacobs of Piqua, Dan (Jennifer) Jacobs of Ft. Loramie; fifteen grandchildren, Dustin (Amy) Schwable, Ashley Jacobs, Derek Schwable, Brandon (Ali) Jacobs, Brooke (Anthony Cab-Jimenez) Jacobs, Taylor (Travis) Meyer, Wyatt Jacobs, Megan Jacobs, Blake (Victoria McBride) Jacobs, Samantha Jacobs, Luke Jacobs, Rachel Jacobs, Alexis Jacobs, Ryan Jacobs, Renee Jacobs; six great grandchildren, Zayden, Madyson, Jaxon, Capreolinae, Eliza, Eleanor; three sisters, Bernie (Bill) Hughes of Piqua, Linda Kerrigan of Piqua, Rita Bragg of Piqua; and a sister-in-law, Esther Jacobs of Lima. He was preceded in death by a brother, Don Jacobs; two brothers-in-law, Tom Kerrigan, Mike Bragg; and a sister and brother-in-law, Chalmer & Kathryn Stocker.
Chuck was a 1959 graduate of Piqua Central High School. He dedicated 37 years of service as a welder with Dayton Power & Light before retiring. He was a member of the Lockington Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years. Chuck was a true outdoorsman who found great joy in deer and raccoon hunting, fishing, and trapping. He also loved camping at his campground in Minnesota, affectionately known to him as “Hillbilly Haven.” His love for the outdoors, hardworking spirit, and the memories he created with family and friends will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed.
A service to honor his life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Beechwood Cemetery, Lockington. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
