Carole A. Henderson, 87, of Piqua, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She was born on March 17, 1938 in Piqua to the late Edmund and Esther (Karns) Sauers. She married James E. Henderson on January 4, 1958 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. He preceded her in death June 28, 2016.
Other survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Jim) Riesenbeck, Jill (Doug) Meyer all of Piqua; three grandchildren, James Tyler Riesenbeck, Brennan Riesenbeck, Paige (Zakk) Weichbrodt; two great grandchildren, Lincoln Weichbrodt, August James Weichbrodt; sister, M. Joyce Chronerberry of Piqua; two step-grandchildren Matthew (Danielle) Meyer, Lindsay (Ron) Fraley; four step-great-grandchildren, Ava Meyer, Alyvia Meyer, Tyler Fraley, Abby Fraley; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother, Edmund C. (Ann) Sauers; brother-in-law William Chronerberry.
Carole graduated from Piqua Catholic High School and was an executive secretary for many years. She was a volunteer at Upper Valley Medical Center and Hayner Cultural Center. Carole was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Church and a long-time supporter of Piqua Catholic School. She was very active and enjoyed reading, taking vacations, having lunch and visiting with friends, dinners with classmates, attending concerts and grandchildren’s activities, and game nights with special friends and family. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.
A service to honor her life will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday October 31, 2025 at Forest Hill Cemetery upper section M with Rev. Fr. Eric Bowman officiating. The family is being served through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
