He was born March 24, 1940 in Piqua to the late Carl W. and Bessie (Edwards) Faehl. He married Shelba J. Hensley August 28, 1978 in Troy; and she preceded him in death November 18, 2010.

Mr. Faehl served proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1958-1960. He worked for over 30 years for Inland Manufacturing as a tool and dye operator; from which he retired. As a die hard Marine, he was a life member of the AmVets Post 88 where he was active for many years serving on the Color Guard. He was also a proud life member of the National Rifle Association.
