BEVERLY YOUNT Obituary

Beverly Elaine (Fogt) Yount, a woman whose life was defined by a radiant spirit, boundless curiosity, and a heart full of service, passed away on June 29, 2026, at Upper Valley Medical Center. After an extended illness, she has set off on her next great adventure, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, service, and love.

Born to the late Martha Josephine (Johnston) Fogt and Carlton Velda Fogt, Beverly approached life with an open heart. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Jim Fogt of Stockton, California, and her devoted husband of 63 years, Charles "Chuck" Edward Yount, who welcomed her to their next journey in February 2026.

She is survived by her proud daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” (Yount) Hanes, and son-in-law, Rick. She also leaves a trail of joy for her cherished grandchildren: Luke Hanes, Joshua Hanes and his wife, Savannah (Stewart) Hanes, and Katherine Hanes.

A spirited member of the Piqua Central High School class of 1956 and an alumna of Edison State Community College, Beverly brought passion to everything she did. She spent 34 wonderful years as a Bridal Consultant at Elder-Beerman, where her warmth, kindness, and keen eye for detail helped countless couples begin their own adventures.

Beverly was dedicated to the Piqua community, always staying active and involved. Whether she was tending to her plants as a Master Gardener through the Miami County Extension Office, serving as a dedicated Girl Scout leader, or adding a bit of flair as a member of the Red Hat Society, she did it with enthusiasm. She cherished her long-time membership as a secretary of Beta Sigma Phi and found deep spiritual fulfillment as an active member and deacon of the Congregational Christian United Church of Christ, where she served on many committees. She also never missed a chance to gather for her various card clubs, which were less about the cards and more about the laughter, spirited competition, and deep friendships that sustained her.

Curiosity and adventure were at the core of Beverly and Chuck’s partnership. They loved to roam, explore new horizons, and embrace the beauty of life together. Their travels created a vibrant tapestry of stories that they shared generously, inspiring their family to chase their own horizons with the same zest for life.

A private family graveside service will be held to celebrate her journey. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to support future generations by contributing to The Edison Foundation at Edison State Community College for the Charles E. Yount and Beverly E. (Fogt) Yount Scholarship Memorial Fund.
