Betty Ann Rittenhouse, 93, of Piqua, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the Hospice Unit of Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born May 10, 1928 in Shelby County to the late Edwin and Della (Baker) Fry. She married Donald E. Rittenhouse August 30, 1947 in Piqua; he preceded her in death December 17, 1999.
Survivors include a son, Rick (Carla) Rittenhouse of Russia; four grandchildren, Sky Daws, Joseph (Melissa) Rittenhouse, Kimberly Crowell, Edwin Rittenhouse; ten great grandchildren, Jamie, Jordan, Josie, Jessie, Tanner and Meg, Trey, Weston, Madison, Brittany, Heather; a very special friend, Jack Leonard; and a special niece, Beverly “Jeannie” Moyer. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Gunnerman, two brothers, Harley Fry and James Fry; a grandson-in-law, James Crowell; and her former daughter-in-law, Donna Rittenhouse.
Mrs. Rittenhouse was a 1946 graduate of Sidney High School and worked as a Receptionist for Hartzell Industries and the Meals on Wheels program. She was a member of the Piqua Leisure Club. Her whole life was lived for her family, she especially loved all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. As an avid sports fan, she was known for following and cheering for the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. She will be missed by her loving family.
A service to honor her life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Trent Fledderjohann officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, P. O.
