Mrs. Gary was a 1952 graduate of Piqua Central High School and a 1955 graduate of Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati. Following her graduation, Betty enjoyed a long career in nursing before her retirement. Her career highlight was working in the Dettmer Hospital nursery caring for newborns. She would light up sharing her many stories and her passion for nursing. She was an active and longstanding member of Greene Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling the country and the world throughout her life. She also enjoyed camping with her family. She was always up for a card game or board game. She enjoyed bowling and would boast of her league win. She was a wonderful cook and baker, filling the dining room table each holiday season with cookies and candies. Most of all, she loved sharing these activities with her family and friends and she cherished the time she was able to spend with them. She was a kind, loving and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed.
