Bernard A. “Pork” Argabright, 74, of Piqua, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born July 31, 1947 in Piqua to the late Herbert and Dorothy (Helman) Argabright. He married Ruby (Shroyer) Argabright June 15, 1968 in Maplewood, Ohio and she survives.
Other survivors include two children, Jeffrey (Alicia) Argabright of Lima, Wendy (Frank) Anthony of Celina; eight grandchildren, Alisha, Julia, Aaron, Jakob, Justin, Brooklyn, Annabel, and Joel; four great grandchildren; nine siblings, Dick (Marilyn) Argabright, Jim (Peggy) Argabright, Tom “Herbie” (Jo) Argabright, Sharon (Carl) Knapke, Carol (Bill) Sidders, Rick (Shirl) Argabright, Linda Gilmore, Rhonda (Richard) Van Buskirk, and Ruth (Mike) Birt; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jonathan and Autumn; and a brother, David Wayne Argabright.
Bernard was a graduate of Hardin Houston High School Class of 1965. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked as a Press Operator for various companies in the area. Bernard loved to watch his grandchildren play sports and was their #1 fan. He was a lover of the outdoors, in particular hunting and fishing. His love of fishing led him to a lifetime of building fishing lures as a side business. He spent countless sunny days teaching his grandchildren to fish and hunt and to love the outdoors as much as he did. They, in turn, will be taking him to his favorite fishing holes to show their final respect and appreciation for having such a great grandpa. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and loved to collect guns. He spent many hours researching the political nightmare our country is facing; the threat against our freedoms and liberties especially the first and second amendment rights. He would urge everyone to wake up before it’s too late. Above all he loved his family and spending time with them, and he will surely be missed.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home is assisting the family. In his memory, memorial contributions may be made to the National Rifle Association of America, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.
