BENJAMIN E. HISER

Benjamin E. Hiser, 91, of Piqua, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the Piqua Manor Nursing Home. He was born May 26, 1930 in Piqua to the late Otis Brice and Harriett (Burch) Hiser. He married Jane L. Oda July 16, 1976 in Piqua; she preceded him in death September 20, 2021.

Survivors include three sons, Jeffrey (Janice) Hiser of Portland, Indiana, Benjamin B. Hiser of Piqua, Jonathan (Corinne) Hiser of Mountain Home, Arkansas; a great grandson, Eric (Tiffany) Hiser; a great granddaughter, Jenna Hiser; and an extended family member, Chris Haller. He was preceded in death by a son, David H. Hiser; two grandson, Jeffrey and Eric; three brothers, Ervin Hiser, H. Louis Hiser, John Hiser; and one sister, Mildred

Mr. Hiser was a graduate of Piqua Central High School. He earned his Bachelors and Law degrees from the University of Dayton in 1977 and 1980, respectively. He worked for many years as an Attorney for the Miami County Courts before his retirement. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 184, the Korean War Veterans, VFW 4874, and the Ohio Bar Association. Additionally, he was active for many years with the Warren Lodge #24 of the Free & Accepted Masons, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton.

A service to honor his life will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 27, 2021 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Will Leasure officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
