BARBARA "JEAN" RUSSELL

Barbara "Jean" Russell, 74, of Piqua, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at her home. She was born October 13, 1950 in Piqua to the late Charles L. and Iva L. (Hagan) Russell.

Jean is survived by two brothers, Thomas (Judy) Russell, and Mikel (Debbie) Russell, all of Piqua; her niece, Annette Fischer; and three nephews, Tommy (Missy) Russell, Jim (Sandy) Russell, and Scott (Jennifer) Russell; also other relatives and friends.

Jean was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, Class of 1969. She worked at Val Decker's Packing Company, and then worked for Hartzell Fan in the office and retired after 30 years of hard work and dedication. Jean had a wonderful green thumb and enjoyed keeping a garden and loved flowers. She was an animal lover, and loved taking care of her cats. Jean was a private, simple person that kept to herself and enjoyed spending time at her home.

A private graveside service to honor her life will be held at Johnston Cemetery. Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Animal Shelter.
