BARBARA J. VORIS

Barbara J. Voris, 82, of Chiefland, Florida, passed away at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was born March 9, 1941 in Troy to the late Joseph and Winifred (Keener) Heckert.

Survivors include four children, Nikki Shiverdecker of Casstown, Todd (Shelly) Voris of Dayton, Brad (Peg) Voris of Texas, and Joseph (Tracy) Voris of Tipp City; seven grandchildren, Brad (Sherry) Voris, Kayla Voris, Russ (Joni) Voris, Casey Voris, Tanner (Bretnie) Sanderson, Kyle Magato, and Zac Neves; eight great grandchildren, Lily, Michael, Gemma, Eliza, Kendalynn, Eisley, Areanna, and Mylah; three brothers, Rod Heckert, and Jim Heckert, and Bruce Heckert; two sisters, Roxie Petril, and Holly; also many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Sue Heckert, her son in law, Kenneth Shiverdecker, and her great grandson, Danny.

Barbara enjoyed living in Florida and spent a lot of time sitting outside in the sunshine. She liked to play Bingo frequently with her friends and neighbors. Barbara came up to Ohio about every summer to spend time with family and visit with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her free time, Barbara loved taking care of indoor and outdoor plants and truly had a green thumb. She also like to watch the Home Shopping Network, watch movies like Avatar and shows like Yellowstone. She had a love of antiques and had many unique things she had found over the years.

A service to honor her life will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are being handled through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
